First Week in the Mexico CCM

Hermana Stevens had her first p-day today, she sounds so great and she sounds like she's already been a missionary for years!!

a few excerpts from her email:

"i was asked to give a prayer in spanish... i dont know spanish... so they gave me a cheat sheet but now i can do it without ... our teacher got up and said a bunch of spanish stuff then said explica? so my companion explained what we said. he speaks english but all of my teachers only talk in spanish! its kind of crazy
but most of the time i understand wha theyre saying! ... day three, we had to teach our first investigatior in spanish! gah! i could still only say hola... but i used a bunch of materials and figured it out! i didnt say much but it ended up being okay! ... i even bore my testimony in spanish to him! tonight is our last lession with him so we are going to try to finally get him to say yes to getting baptized! fingers crossed! ...the language is hard. i mean i am getting it okay i think but it is just kind of frustrating to hear a teacher or (investigators name removed for privacy) ask something and i just cant figure out how to express myself. infact, on friday, our very first lession with sadami, i told him that "he can be saved from the fish" instead of sins... that one probably confused him but oh well.. all is well jaja! ... i really love it here! i have seen the lord touch my life so much since i have been here. I mean i can understand almost an intire lession all in spanish and i have only been studying it for a week! he has re assured me that everything will be okay back home. that i will be okay here. many times has reassured me that i am in the right place. i know i am supposed to be here. i believe in the gift of tongues completely!"

(also, she did apologize for spelling and grammar because the keyboard and computer she uses are obviously in Spanish:) )
